Know how many shoppers come in, and when.

Continuous footfall counts for every store, so you can staff to real demand, compare stores fairly and see what each campaign, window or refit brought in.

Sales figures only tell you half the story.

Till data shows what sold, not how many people came in. Without store visits, you can't tell a footfall problem from a conversion problem.

  • A quiet day or a missed sale?

When takings drop, you can't see whether fewer people came in or more of them left without buying.

  • Rotas follow habit

Staffing and opening hours are set on gut feel, so stores are short at the rush and overstaffed in the lull.

  • Campaigns are hard to judge

Window displays, seasonal changes and promotions go live without a count of who walked past and who came in, so there is nothing to judge them against.

Store visits you can plan around.

Continuous counts of the people walking past each store and the people coming in, by day and hour, turned into reporting your store and area managers can act on.

  1. Staff to real demand

See the busiest hours and days in each store, and build rotas and opening hours around them.

  2. Find the conversion gap

Set counted visits beside your own sales figures to see how many visitors became customers.

  3. Compare stores fairly

Judge each store on the visits it gets, not just its takings, so underperformers are easier to spot.

  4. See what draws shoppers in

Count passers-by as well as visitors, so you can see whether a window display, seasonal change or promotion turned more of them into shoppers.

Questions retailers ask

Footfall data shows a retailer how many people visit each store, and when, so you can staff to demand, compare stores and measure what changes bring in.

What is footfall data for a retailer?

A count of how many people enter each of your stores, by day and hour. Over time it shows trends, so you can see what is changing and why.

How does footfall help with conversion?

Conversion is the share of visitors who buy. Footfall counts give you the visits, and set beside your own transaction numbers they show how many visitors became customers. As an optional extra, your sales data can be brought into our system so conversion is reported alongside footfall.

Can footfall data help with staffing?

Yes. Seeing the busiest hours and days in each store lets you plan rotas and opening hours around when shoppers actually come.

Can we compare stores?

Yes. Counts for every store sit in the same reporting, so you can compare visits across your estate and spot stores that need attention.

Can you count people walking past the store as well as coming in?

Yes. Sensors placed to cover the shopfront and the entrance count the people walking past as well as the people who come in. The share of passers-by who step inside shows how well your window and store front draw shoppers.

Can we see how long shoppers spend in store?

Yes. Dwell time shows how long visitors stay in each store, so you can see whether a new layout, range or promotion keeps shoppers in for longer.

Can we see whether a window display or seasonal change worked?

Yes. Compare passers-by and visits during a new window display, seasonal change or promotion with a typical period. If more of the people walking past came in, the change made a difference.

How is footfall counted?

Sensors placed at each shopfront and entrance pick up the WiFi signals phones send out (probe requests) and count passers-by and visitors continuously. The counts feed a dashboard and reports your team can use, with no manual counting to organise.

Does footfall counting identify shoppers?

No. Footfall reporting gives you counts and trends, not information about who people are. We will take your data protection team through how the data is collected and handled as part of setting up.
