Know how busy your centre is, entrance by entrance.

Continuous footfall counts at every entrance and zone, so you can prove visitor numbers to tenants, judge events and marketing, and run the centre around real demand.

Tenants want proof, not estimates.

Retailers and investors judge a centre on how many people it draws. Without reliable counts, leasing conversations, marketing spend and reports to owners rest on guesswork.

  • Leasing without evidence

Prospective tenants ask how busy the centre and their unit's part of it really are, and a rough estimate weakens the conversation.

  • Events and campaigns go unmeasured

Seasonal events, promotions and marketing spend go live without a clear before and after to judge them by.

  • Busy and quiet areas are hard to see

Without counts by entrance and zone, it is hard to tell which parts of the centre draw people and which are being left behind.

Visitor numbers you can put in front of tenants.

Continuous counts at each entrance and zone, by day and hour, turned into reporting your centre, leasing and marketing teams can use.

  1. Back up leasing conversations

Give current and prospective tenants real visitor numbers for the centre and for the zone their unit sits in.

  2. Report to owners and investors

Show how the centre is performing week by week, with trends you can set against previous periods.

  3. Measure events and marketing

Compare footfall during an event, campaign or seasonal promotion with a typical period to see what it brought in.

  4. Run the centre around real demand

See which entrances and zones are busiest, and when, to plan cleaning, security, staffing and opening hours.

Questions centre managers ask

Footfall data shows a shopping centre how many people visit, through which entrances and into which zones, so you can prove value to tenants and measure what changes bring in.

What is footfall data for a shopping centre?

A count of how many people enter the centre, and each zone within it, by day and hour. Over time it shows trends, so you can see what is changing and why.

Can we count each entrance and zone separately?

Yes. Each counted entrance or zone has its own figures alongside a total for the whole centre, so you can compare areas side by side.

How does footfall data help with leasing?

It gives you real visitor numbers to share with current and prospective tenants, for the centre as a whole and for the area their unit sits in, rather than estimates.

Can we see how long shoppers stay?

Yes. Dwell time shows how long visitors stay in the centre and in each counted zone, so you can see which areas hold shoppers and which they pass straight through.

Can we share footfall figures with tenants and investors?

Yes. You decide which figures to share, whether that is the centre total, a single zone or the period around an event, and take them from your reports.

Can we bring tenant sales data in alongside footfall?

Yes, as an optional extra. Tenant sales and other data sets can be brought into our system, so you can see footfall and trading side by side.

Can we see whether an event or campaign worked?

Yes. Compare footfall during an event, campaign or seasonal promotion with a typical period to see how many extra visits it brought.

How is footfall counted?

Sensors at each entrance and counting point pick up the WiFi signals phones send out (probe requests) and count visits continuously. The counts feed a dashboard and reports your team can use, with no manual counting to organise.

Does footfall counting identify shoppers?

No. Footfall reporting gives you counts and trends, not information about who people are. We will take your data protection team through how the data is collected and handled as part of setting up.
